About this tour

Bentota, an island resort located on the southwest coast Sri Lanka. Bentota Beach is a long stretch of sand that stretches to the north. This sand strip, called Paradise Island, then transforms into a sandy strip. Coral-rich dive sites include Canoe Rock. Galle is a city located in the south coast of Sri Lanka. Galle Fort is the old fortified city founded by Portuguese colonists in the 16th century. Mirissa is located on the southern shores of Sri Lanka in the Matara District, Southern Province. It is located approximately 150 km from Colombo at an elevation of 4 meters. Tissamaharama, the capital of the Sinhalese kingdom of Ruhuna around the third century B.C. Few structures from this period still exist today. Yala National Park in Sri Lanka’s southeast is a vast expanse of grassland and forests with lagoons. Ella, also known as the “lonely world”, is often described by visitors to Sri Lanka. Ella has a natural beauty that is breathtaking, with its mountains, waterfalls and greenery. Nuwara Eliya is the highest urban area in Sri Lanka. It is located at 1890m above sea level and is below Mount Pedro, the highest peak on the island. Kandy, a vibrant city built around a large lake in the middle Sri Lanka, is one of the most important cities. It is a World Heritage Site and one of the holiest places in the Buddhist religion. Sigiriya al is also known as “Lion Rock” and is known for its fortress built inside its walls. The walls are decorated with beautiful frescoes, and two giant lion feet guarding the main entrance. It is recommended that you wear comfortable walking shoes for this trip. Visitors to Buddhist and Hindu temples are required to remove their shoes and caps.

Also, the knees and shoulders must be covered. Walking is necessary. The transfer time is an estimate. The exact time will depend on the hour.

Itinerary

You will be collected from your accommodation in Colombo with your very own individual guide, and then transferred to Bentota.

Bentota Beach: If you want to enjoy your vacation and indulge in the most natural and peaceful indulgence without restaurants or bars, This is the most tranquil and refreshing spot. There, they constructed a small fort built of coral stones and mud. They named

it The Santa Cruz and later, in 1625, expanded it by adding the watch tower and three bastions, as well as the Fortaleza, to protect the harbor. After the Galle visit, we'll head to Mirissa to spend the night.

From Mirissa, you'll travel to Thissamaharame after breakfast.

Tissa Wewa -The Lake, an artificial reservoir, is believed to have been built in the 3rd century BC or at the hands of Mahanaga from Ruhuna or by his succeeding Yatala Tissa of Ruhuna to help irrigate paddy fields and provide water to the town of Tissamaharama. It was finally restored by 1871.

Tissamaharama Raja Maha Vihara: The Tissamaharama Raja Maha Vihara is a renowned Buddhist temple located in Tissamaharama, Southern Province of Sri Lanka. It was among the four main Buddhist monasteries that were established throughout Sri Lanka after the arrival of Arhant Mahinda Thera to Sri Lanka. The site of Tissamaharama Raja Maha Vihara had been dedicated to the presence of Buddha, the Buddha himself. He stayed for an hour in meditation together with the 500 arhats (individuals who have achieved enlightenment) on his third trip to Sri Lanka. Tissamaharama monastery was regarded as the most prestigious Buddhist education center in the south of Sri Lanka from the 3rd century B.C. through the eleventh century A.D. Until the 11th century AD. Tissamaharama Dagoba, which is situated within the premises of this monastery, was among the biggest stupas in Sri Lanka. The current main incumbent for Tissamaharama Raja Maha Vihara is Ven. Devalegama Dhammasena Nayaka Thera. Following the Tissamaharama tour, you'll journey to Yala.

 

Yala National Park is a vast expanse of grassland, forest, and lagoons that border the Indian Ocean in southeast Sri Lanka. It is home to wildlife, including elephants, leopards, and crocodiles, as well as many birds. In the inland, Sithulpawwa is an ancient Buddhist monastery. Nearby caves have ancient rock paintings. Southwest, Magul Maha Viharaya is also home to old Buddhist ruinariums. Both are places of pilgrimage. Following the Park visit, you'll be back in Tissamaharama for a night's stay.

The next day, after breakfast, you'll travel to Ella.

Nine Arch Bridge: The Nine Arch Bridge in Ella is situated on the Demodara loop that extends for 91 meters and 24 meters in height. The gorgeous nine arches create an amazing spot, particularly because it is situated in a dense forest and agricultural landscape. In the distance, there is a thriving forest, and beneath, tea plants are being grown.

After breakfast, you will visit the Adisham Bungalow. The following day of the tour, you will be visiting Nuwara Eliya. It is situated elevated to 1890 meters above sea level. It is the most elevated urban area in Sri Lanka.

Horton Plains: Horton Plains, located in Sri Lanka, is the chillyest and windiest area in the nation.

After a jolly breakfast, you will then be taken to Sigiriya

Pidurangala Rock - Pidurangala Rock is located near Sigiriya Rock and is the most picturesque spot for viewing

Sigiriya Rock as it is just slightly lower. Pidurangala is a well-known place to watch sunrises since it offers 360-degree views of not only the valleys but also Sigiriya Rock.

 

SIGIRIYA ROCK - during the 5th century, King Kashyapa was a keeper of Lions Rock by building an imposing palace on its top and well-designed defenses, with moats and ramparts constructed around the Rock. The Rock has its unique characteristics due to its design, which is unique to any other place on the entire island. The irrigational techniques of water gardens and archaeological techniques of the lion carving on the Rock's entrance are valuable and are still being used. If you climb the steps, you'l see vibrant frescoes that are decorated with original female paintings. The mirror wall is a different attraction in Sigiriya, where you can find poetry written by the people of Sigiriya. Emotions, love, and irony were the major themes that inspired their poems. Sigiriya is a memorial to some of the turbulent times of Sri Lanka's past, which is why it is regarded as the eighth wonder of Asia and has also been declared a World Heritage Site.
